About Us
Found in the year 1935 by Mr. Hewagama Liyanage Gunadasa, our journey began as a small hotel and bakery with just a handful of employees. Over the decades, the Gunasiri name has grown into a trusted family-owned group of companies, deeply rooted in Sri Lanka’s heritage of quality and authenticity.
In 1984, under the leadership of Mr. H.L. Ariyapala, Gunasiri Oil Mills & Refineries was established, marking our expansion into the coconut oil industry. With state-of-the-art refining facilities and a production capacity of up to 20 tons of coconut oil per day, we quickly became a reliable partner to major companies such as Leo Brothers Pvt Ltd and British Ceylon Corporation.
Our growth continued with the launch of Gunasiri Export (Pvt) Ltd in 1994, specializing in fiber bailing for international markets, and later Gunasiri Metal Crushers, supplying high quality crushed stone materials to the Sri Lankan construction industry.
By 2005, we expanded into Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) production, becoming pioneers of the VCO industry in Sri Lanka. With over 15 years of expertise, we have perfected the art of producing premium, natural, and health-enhancing virgin coconut oil, a product that has become one of our greatest strengths and a favorite among customers worldwide.
